Jasmín López is a journalist, sound artist, and youth media educator. In addition to Making Contact, she reports for KALW, and is a translator for Al Jazeera. She is founder of Project Luz in Nezahualcoyotl, Mexico – a nonprofit project that empowers youth to share stories within their communities.
She is also the founder of Listen Up, Los Angeles – a growing network of radio producers in the LA area. A proud recipient of the Association of Independents in Radio (AIR) New Voices Scholarship, and the Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ) “Translating Science/Telling Stories” Fellowship. She is based in Oakland, and sometimes Nezahualcoyotl, Mexico.
