Kwan Booth, Digital Content and Community Engagement Manager

Kwan Booth is a journalist, digital strategist and independent publisher focusing on the intersection of communications, community, art and technology. He is the cofounder of and the Black Futurist Project and the editor of “Black Futurists Speak: An Anthology of New Black Writing” and “Soul of Oakland: A People’s Guide to The Town.”

Kwan ’s reporting on air quality in West Oakland and Bay Area hip hop culture have won awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and he has developed digital projects and workshops for several media and community organizations including The National Conference on Media Reform, Public Radio International, The Black Coalition on AIDS, Netsquared, the Knight Digital Media Center, The Online News Association and the International Journalism Festival in Perugia, Italy.
