Volunteer at Making Contact

Making Contact heightens public consciousness, broadens debate on critical social issues and encourages civic participation by giving voice to diverse perspectives and opinions not typically heard in the mass media. National Radio Project also trains independent journalists and local organizers in radio skills in order to improve popular access to the media.

We are currently looking for volunteers to assist with many of our operations. Our volunteers are an important and much appreciated part of Making Contact. The various ways you can be involved include but are not limited to:

  • Office/Admin/Outreach/Marketing
Administrative Assistant activities,  station outreach, community outreach, research, inventory, recording contents, community organizing for Desks, marketing/promotion, and online social marketing.
  • Production:
Recording a speech/event, transcribing programs, editing transcripts, digital audio editing.
  • Events and Development:
Donor mailings, house party support, “tabling” at events, photography, producing written materials (brochures, flyers, etc.), grantwriting, new donor development, house parties, and other fundraising events.
  • Working with Desks on special projects.

If any of these sounds appealing to you, please fill out our Volunteer Application and email to Lisa Rudman at lrudman [at] radioproject.org.  Thanks, and we look forward to hearing from you!
