Programming Tips
How some stations use Making Contact:
Our programs are not breaking news, but long-term resonating issues that local producers can build shows around at any time.
Generally, our programs have a three-month shelf life, but our documentaries are longer-lived, and some are evergreen. This, and the fact that our programs are half-hour in length, allows us to fit in well with many programming structures:
-
As a springboard for in-studio discussions with community groups.
-
To complement other half-hour shows, such as Counterspin, Left, Right and Center, or your own locally produced news or public affairs programs.
-
To provide a broad range of views and interesting topics for listeners.
-
As part of a themed programming block, and/or to help commemorate African-American History Month, Women’s History Month, Labor Day and otherĀ dates of significance.
