MAKING CONTACT - a weekly international radio program
March 1, 2006
In September 2005, women from across the globe gathered for the 10th annual International Women and Health Meeting in New Delhi. Representing a variety of age groups, ethnicities, religious beliefs and countries the women assembled to share their thinking and tackle issues affecting their lives, their health, their families and their futures.
From the rise of religious fundamentalism and the implementation of the "global gag rule" to neo-liberal economics and environmental justice, the common thread running through the weeklong gathering was improved human rights for women.
