August 7, 2002

Freedom of the press is a crucial element in a democratic society. How free has the press been, particularly since the Bush Administration declared its war on terrorism? On this edition of Making Contact, we hear from syndicated columnist Norman Solomon, who shares his take on the media and the first amendment since September 11th.

Norman Solomon is the Executive Director of the Institute for Public Accuracy. He's also the senior advisor for the National Radio Project. He spoke at the League of Women Voters annual luncheon in Oakland, California, on May 1st, 2002.
