MAKING CONTACT - a weekly international radio program
May 16, 2001
Women's health is central to the well-being of whole communities. Recent studies, however, show that medical care systems in the United States short-change women, particularly poor women and women of color. On this program from the National Radio Project's Women's Desk, we discuss the policies and realities of women's health care. We'll also take a look at how women's health advocates are organizing to demand quality health care for all women.
Featuring:
Belma Gonzalez, Center for Collaborative Planning Women's Health Leadership; Sharon Levin, National Women's Law Center; Diane Williams, Native American Health Center; Ellen Leopold, Women's Community Cancer Project; Joy Moore, Food Systems Project; National Radio Project correspondent Erica Bridgeman gives a personal report.
