MAKING CONTACT - a weekly international radio program
May 2, 2001
Across the United States, waste and pollution from industrial operations contaminate our air, water, and land. Often, low-income communities are hardest hit. On this program we take a look at the environmental consequences of the coal industry, including a revealing account of an investigation into the largest environmental catastrophe in the eastern United States. We also hear from a community that's dealing with toxic waste left behind by the U.S. Navy.
