MAKING CONTACT - a weekly international radio program
February 2, 2000
There's been rising public concern internationally about genetically engineered food. The European Union has placed a moratorium on approving new genetically engineered food or crops. But here in the United States the federal government has been slow to react. On this program we take a look at opposition from U.S. family farmers to genetically engineered seeds. We'll examine the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's role in regulating biotech food. And we hear from activists engaged in direct action against the biotech industry.
