MAKING CONTACT - a weekly international radio program
January 19, 2000
Since passage of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 a handful of corporations have acquired a large proportion of radio stations in the United States. On this program we take a look at independent efforts to broadcast and share alternative information to meet community needs.
Featuring:
Peter Franck, National Lawyers Guild Committee on Democratic Communications; Shiriki Unganisha, Black Liberation Radio (KCBLR), Kansas City, Missouri; Diane Emelda Flemming, West Philadelphia Pirate Radio(WPPR); Alan Korn, National Lawyers Guild; Lyn Gerry, microradio activist.
