In 1991 the democratically elected president of Haiti was ousted from power after a coup, tacitly approved by the United States. Three years later the United States helped to re-install Jean Bertrand Aristide, a leader of Haiti's peasant movement, but with economic and political stipulations.
On this program we take a look at the social movement in Haiti that is organizing against privatization despite heavy pressure from the United States and international financial institutions.
