Many Americans are inclined to agree when they hear denunciations of powerful interests. To a lot of us, government agencies are apt to seem oppressive, while big business just keeps getting bigger and more contemptuous of human needs. But just because an alternative newspaper or a radio program seems to be saying some good things, can we assume that its underlying agenda is to promote the values that we cherish. In other words, is the enemy of my enemy necessarily my friend?
