Nearly one year after U.S. Marines ushered former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide from the country, Haiti has sunk into ever deepening despair. On this edition, Correspondent Reed Lindsay takes a look at the offensive launched by the U.S.-backed Haitian government against supporters of the former president. We’ll examine the return of the feared Haitian military, and see how the United Nations peacekeeping force in Haiti is turning a blind eye to state-sponsored human rights abuses. And we’ll hear from Haiti’s poor, who have been the hardest hit by the change in government.

Featuring:

Guy Bosse, resident of Port-au-Prince; Gessy Coicou, national police spokesperson; Samba Boukman, spokesperson for Popular Base Resistance Movement; Andre Apaid, businessman and founder and leader of Group 184; Jean Senat Fleury, former federal judge; Juan Gabriel Valdes, head of United Nations Stabilization Mission; Doug Perlitz, president, Project Venerable Pierre Toussaint; Guyler C.
