For several years now, social movements that oppose corporate globalization have been articulating what they are against and why, but few alternatives to rules and policies set forth by the World Bank and International Monetary Fund have entered the public discourse. That’s beginning to change, say many proponents of fair trade policies and democratic rights. On this edition, we’ll hear from two key advocates of alternatives to economic globalization: physicist Vandana Shiva and economist John Cavanagh.

Featuring:

Vandana Shiva, Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Natural Resource Policy; John Cavanagh, Institute for Policy Studies; Shiva and Cavanagh are both contributors to the book “Alternatives to Economic Globalization: A Better World is Possible,” a report from the International Forum on Globalization.
